ABOUT SARCAN
Southern Africa Region Climate Action Network (SARCAN) is the region’s largest climate network made up of more than 300 civil society
organizations in southern Africa, fighting together to combat harmful climate change. SARCAN has evolved into a dynamic, member-driven network with representatives from 2 Portuguese and 7 other English-speaking countries. SARCAN, with its diverse membership and long history of steering the climate movement, continues to seek alignment and build bridges with partners and stakeholders throughout the climate movement and beyond to pressure northern governments to take bold and urgent climate action to end the era of fossil fuels and address the needs of the most vulnerable people affected by the climate crisis in the region. It also urges South African governments to be ambitious in its climate actions, while taking note of the trickling financial resources coming into the region.
